CITY OF PARIS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BID SPECIFICATIONS FOR FURNISHING SAND Requirements: It is estimated that 3,000 tons of Sand will be required in the operation of the Street Division of Public Works during the period of March 1, 2010 through March l, 2011. Exact quantities camiot be determined, but estiinates are given as shown above. Quantities may be increased or decreased to meet the requirement of the operations of the Street Division of Public Works during the period shown above. A minimum is not guaranteed. Specifications: Sand must conform to Item 421.2, E.2, in the 2004 edition of "Texas Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction and Maintenance of Highways, Streets and Bridges" or later edition. Materials must be from an approved TXDOT material source. Bidder must provide documentation that material has been tested and meets TXDOT specifications. Material will be sampled randoinly during delivery and testing by the City of Paris. Failure of material to meet TXDOT specifications will be reason for termination of contract and/or removal from bid list. Deliverv: Delivery to be made to the Public Works Service Center, 50 W. Hickory Street, Paris, Texas, or other site within the city limits of the city of Paris. Due to limited storage space, the City of Paris will place individual orders of approximately 1,000 to 2,000 tons of material during the life of the contract. The supplier will begin delivery within 72 hours of placing order, and will complete the order of 1,000 to 2,000 tons within 14 calendar days. City forces will stockpile material as it is delivered.
