Paris Public Library Advisory Board Minutes February 17, 2010 The Paris Public Libarary Advisory Board met Wednesday afternoon, February 17, 2010, at 4 o'clock in the Director's Office. Chairman Bill Kennedy presided. Also attending were members Hilda Mallory, Eddie Poole, Debfa-Hatley, Linda Vandiver and Library Director Priscilla McAnally. --DehU-C, h Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as printed A game afternoon will be held sometime during the week of spring break, March 15-19 for teens aged 13-18. Wii board games will be available and popcorn will be served. Some of the Lone Star Libraries money has been expended as previously approved. Several of the Spanish language books have been received. The registration fee for Priscilla McAnally, Libarary Director, to attend the Public Library Association conference in Portland, Oregon March 23-27 was also paid from these funds. In addition, a new digital camera was purchased. The annual Performance Report will be due March 4, 2010. The budget report was presented and showed no unusual expenditures. According to the Statistical Report, both library visits and circulation were down in January. This could be partly attributed to the recent bad weather. In the absence of the Friends of the Library chairman, Priscilla McAnally gave their report. The Friends will not be hosting a spring luncheon this year as attendance has been down at the previous luncheons. The Friends currently have $17,000+ in their bank account. Dave Johnson, from local Channe199, recently interviewed the director regarding the new language program. This interview will be aired several times on the local station. The Library will host a Blood Drive on February 18 from 12:00-4:00 in the Gallery. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:25.
