CITY COUNCIL AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Paris shall meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010. The meeting will be held at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufinan Street, in Paris, Texas. The matters to be discussed and acted upon are as follows: Opening Agenda 1. Call meeting to order. 2. Invocation. 3. Pledge of Allegiance. 4. Citizens' forum. (Persons desiring to address the Council must limit their presentation to no more than two minutes. The Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the Council from responding to any comments other than to refer the matter to a future agenda, to an existing policy, or to a staff person with specific factual information. Claims against the City, Council Members, or employees, as well as individual personnel appeals are not appropriate for citizens' forum.) Consent Agenda Items on the Consent Agenda are approved by a single action of the Council, with such approval applicable to all items appearing on the Consent Agenda. A Council Member may request any item to be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item. 5. Deliberate and act on the approval of minutes from the meeting on March 8, 2010. 6. Receive and deliberate on reports and/or minutes from the following boards, commissions, and committees: a. Paris Economic Development Corporation (2-9-2010) b. Fire and Building Code Review Committee (2-23-2010) c. Paris Historic Preservation Commission (2-10-2010; 2-22-2010) d. Board of Adjustment (1-5-2010) e. Paris Public Library Advisory Board (1-20-2010; 2-17-2010) 7. Deliberate on February monthly financial report. 8. Deliberate and act on a Resolution approving a proclamation declaring the month of April as Fair Housing Month. 9. Deliberate and act on a Resolution accepting the bid and awarding a contract for a grit removal system to the lowest responsible bidder for the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute all necessary documents. 10. Deliberate and act on a Resolution accepting the bid and awarding the contract for the curb/gutter, driveway approaches and reinforced concrete to the lowest responsible bidder. 11. Deliberate on drainage ditch maintenance report. 12. Deliberate and act on a Resolution approving the purchase of 165 Center Street; and authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute all necessary documents.
