Applicaiion of Chapter to Member of Higher I <br />Education Authority <br />This chapter does not apply to a board member of a higher <br />education authority created under Chapter 53, Education <br />Code, unless a vote, act, or other participation by the boa <br />member in the affairs of the higher education authority w uld <br />provide a financial benefit to a financial institution, school <br />college, or university that is: <br />(1) a source of income to the board member; or I <br />(2) a business entity in which the board member has an <br />interest distinguishable from a financial benefit available t <br />any other similar financial institution or other school, college, <br />or university whose students are eligible for a student loa <br />available under Chapter 53, Education Code. <br />Added by Acts 1989, 71 st Leg., ch. 1, § 41(a), eff.
