Should the city manager or city attorney believe <br />an inve <br />igation <br />is warranted, they shall confer with the Mayor or Council. The Mayor or Council <br />hall ask <br />he city <br />manager and/or the city attorney to investigate the allegation and report the findin <br />s. <br />The results of any such investigation shall be provided to the full Council in the <br />rm of <br />Report <br />to Council, and shall be placed on the agenda of a noticed public meeting as "In <br />"ormatioi- <br />i Only". <br />Any such report shall be made public and distributed in accordance with normal <br />rocedu <br />s(i.e., <br />hard copies to numerous public locations and posted online). Any report to Co <br />ncil ad <br />essing <br />the investigation of board and commission members shall be routed through the <br />ffice of <br />he City <br />Attorney for review of whether any information is exempt from disclosure (subj <br />ct to re <br />action) <br />based on privacy interests authorized under the Public Records Act. <br />It shall be the Mayor and/or the Council's responsibility to determine the next ap ropriat action. <br />Any such action taken by Council (with the exception of "take no further ction") all be <br />conducted at a noticed public hearing. These actions include, but are not limit d to: di ussing <br />and counseling the individual on the violations; placing the matter on a futur public earing <br />agenda to consider sanctions; forming a Council ad hoc subcommittee to revie the all gation, <br />the investigation and its findings, as well as to recommend sanction opti ns for ouncil <br />consideration. <br />Under the City Charter, the City Council also may remove members of boards <br />from office. A violation of this Code of Ethics and Conduct shall not be cons <br />challenging the validity of a Council, board or commission decision. <br />D.
