WHEREAS, in return for decertifying the dairy farm acreage, the District has requested <br />the City to execute a letter to the Texas Water Development Board to help the District obtain <br />approval on some new Water Revenue Bonds; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Parties have also agreed to make other amendments to the 2006 <br />Wholesale Treated Water Contract to address the service of retail customers along FM 195 and <br />other matters which are set forth in more detail in the Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Paris and its citizens that <br />the City enter into this Agreement, and the same should be in all things approved. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. That the Agreement Concerning the Release of a portion of the District's <br />Certificated Service Area and amendment of the Wholesale Treated Water Contract between the <br />City of Paris and Lamar County Water Supply District as set forth in Exhibit A attached hereto, <br />and incorporated herein by reference be and the same is hereby approved and accepted; and, <br />Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to <br />execute on behalf of the City of Paris said Agreement with Lamar County Water Supply District <br />substantially in accordance with the form attached hereto as Exhibit A, and any and all other <br />necessary documents to effectuate this Agreement. <br />Section 4.
