Director of <br />Council Date: <br />& Development <br />Engineering, Planning & <br />18. <br />04/26/10 <br />Develo ment <br />RECOMMENDED MOTION: <br />Move to approve a Resolution accepting the bid and awarding the contract for the Texas Capital Fund <br />Grant 14" water main extension to Daisy Farms to Pittard Construction Company for $847,906.25 and <br />authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute all necessary documents. <br />POLICY ISSUE(S): <br />Contract; Economic Development <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This project is for the construction of 4.79 miles of a 14-inch water line starting at the southeast corner <br />of the Chisum High School property. The water line will be installed just inside the west Right-of-Way <br />line of SH 19 & 24 for 3.04 miles and then be bored under the highway and travel the remainder of the <br />1.75 miles primarily on Daisy Farms property. One hundred percent of the cost of project is funded <br />through the Texas Capital Fund grant and Daisy Farms will pay for any amount that might exceed the <br />grant funds. <br />Bids were advertised and proposals opened April 5, 2010. There were ten bidders and Pittard <br />Construction Company had the lowest bid. Pittard's base bid is $624,906.25 and $223,000.00 for <br />alternate # 1.
