ORDINANCE NO. 2010-014 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL MAP ADOPTED IN SECTION 31- 65(b), OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; ESTABLISHING A STOP SIGN ON 17th STREET SW AT WEST KAUFMAIV STREET STOPPING NORTH- AND SOUTH-BOUND TRAFFIC; MAKIIVG OTHER FIIVDINGS AND PROVISIOIVS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; PROVIDIIVG A REPEALER CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE, A PENALTY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Paris Traffic Commission is charged with reviewing and evaluating proposals to add or remove traffic control devices on City streets and roadways throughout the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, among those traffic control devices evaluated by the Traffic Commission is the placement of stop signs at various intersections throughout the City; and, WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission, at its regular meeting of February 2, 2010, considered and evaluated a request for the placement of a stop sign at the intersection of 171h Street SW and West Kaufman Street, to stop the north- and south-bound traffic on 17th Street SW and, having done so, found and determined that the placement of stop signs at this location in the City of Paris is necessary to protect the health and safety and is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIIVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the Traffic Control Map of the City of Paris, Texas, as amended, and as adopted in Paragraph (b) of Section 31-65, Chapter 31, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, further amended to include the following stop signs: "Stop Sign - on 17th Street SW at West Kaufman Street stopping North- and South-bound traffic." Section 3. That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions of the ordinances of the City of Paris not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
