Resolution No. PEDC-2010-001 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PARIS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (PEDC) <br />BOARD, PARIS, TEXAS, EXPRESSING OVERWHELMING SUPPORT OF TURNER <br />INDUSTRIES' PARIS OPERATIONS AND THANKING THEM FOR THEIR <br />SIGNIFICANT EMPLOYMENT PRESENCE AND ECONOMIC IMPACT IN PARIS, <br />LAMAR COUNTY AND THE NORTHEAST TEXAS REGION. <br />WHEREAS Turner Industries' Paris operation is the largest pipe fabrication facility in the United <br />States; and, <br />WHEREAS Turner Industries has provided a single vendor solution in heavy industrial construction, <br />maintenance, pipe, module and vessel fabrication, equipment, rigging and heavy hauling, and <br />associated specialty services for nearly 50 years; and, <br />WHEREAS Turner Industries is vested in Paris and surrounding communities and has taken an <br />active, participatory role in community events to increase the quality of life as much for people <br />throughout the area as for their own employees; and, <br />WHEREAS Turner Industries has remained committed to Paris and Lamar County during these and <br />other economically and socially challenging times; and, <br />WHEREAS Turner Industries has accepted responsibility in being involved in the Paris community, <br />where its employees live and work; and, <br />WHEREAS Turner Industries has focused on being a good corporate citizen backed by action and <br />financial support; and, <br />WHEREAS Turner Industries has directly and indirectly provided well-paying employment and <br />benefits to many Paris and Lamar County residents, including countless opportunities for individuals <br />possessing criminal histories to start their lives anew with significant jobs; and, <br />WHEREAS Turner Industries delivers one of the highest levels of economic impact in the greater <br />Paris community, serving as a major source of financial support for individuals, businesses, nonprofit <br />and government organizations; <br />WHEREAS Turner Industries serves in an overall anchor position within the community; and <br />WHEREAS the Paris Economic Development Corporation Board and our community do not <br />tolerate, or approve of racism, discrimination or harassment in any form. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PARIS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, PARIS, TEXAS, <br />SUPPORTING TURNER INDUSTRIES <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />May 13, 2010 <br />
