Council Date: City CounCil 7 6/ l 4/2010 RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve a resolution authorizing final payment and closing the contract with Sanitation Soltiitions for the demolition of One Oak Place, located at 655 Graham St., and authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute all necessary documents. PoLicY IssuE(s): Contract BACKGROUND: This is the close out for the demolition of One Oak Place by Sanitation Solutions for a total of $35,400. Ninety percent ($31,860) has been paid and the remaining $3,540.00 will be paid when the contract is closed out. The asbestos abatement company TASCO removed 130,000 square feet of asbestos containing materials thi•oughout the five apartment buildings prior to the demolition by Sanitation Solutions. Approximately 15,000 square feet of asbestos containing matei°ial remained in the five unit property after TASCO was completed. The remaining poi°tion of asbestos was in an area that had been damaged by fire and was not structurally sound. This remaining portion of the asbestos was handled in accordance with NESHAP guide lines during the demolition.
