POLICY ISSUE(S): Contract; Capital improvement; Facility safety and security BACKGROUND: The City received four bids for the Smith Creek Bridge replacement project on CR 32900 and Spann Concrete was the low bidder for the project see accompanying bid tabulation). The project will replace the bridge that was damaged a few years ago and was totally removed last year, leaving the water treatment plant, Lamar County Water Supply pump station and ground storage tank, and Lake Crook Park susceptible to isolation if the only remaining entrance is impassable. This will be a 60-foot long bridge with steel beams and a concrete deck. It was designed to carry tractor trailers (HS-201oading). The Lake Crook Road bridge will be bid this summer as well.
