Regular Council Meeting June 14, 2010 Page 3 Regular Agenda 10. Proclamation recognizing the North Lamar Pantherette Softball Team for winning the State 3A Championship. Mayor Biard presented each individual team member with a proclamation recognizing their success in winning the State Championship. 11. Hear and deliberate on water and sewer rate study presentation. Darrell Cline of Stowe & Co. presented the water and sewer rate study to City Council. In summary, Mr. Cline recommended that the City maintain retail water and wastewater rates at current levels. 12. Presentation on the Lake Pat Mayse Study Committee recommendations. Chairman Hayter Reeves said the Committee recommended offering an interruptible supply available to an outside entity, but only when the lake was above elevation 448. Mr. Reeves said they also recommended application to amend the City's water rights permit to allow a peak day and increase the amount of water available. Mr. Reeves explained there were several options available to increase the amount of water and subsequently answered questions from City Council. Council Member Pickle expressed appreciation for all of the work done by the Committee. Council Member Pickle suggested that they look at ways to develop the City's water resources, such as dredging Lake Crook. Mr. Reeves said that was discussed their meetings, and from a water supply prospective it was determined that it would be better to raise the water level instead of dredge the lake. 13. Presentation on upgrades to Suddenlink Cable Systems. Ray McCranie of Suddenlink gave a presentation on the transition from and process for obtaining and installing DTA units. 14. Deliberate and act on the Final Plat of Lot 1, Block A, Mirabeau Square 287 Addition, located at 3553 Lamar Avenue. A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Pickle and seconded by Council Member McCarthy. Motion carried, 7 ayes - 0 nays. 15. Public hearing, deliberate and act on RESOLUTION NO. 2010-065: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GR.ANT (JAG) PRORAM; AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH LAMAR COUNTY; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS; ACCEPTING SAID GRANT AWARD UPON NOTICE THEREOF; AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR ACCEPTANCE 1 il)
