Regular Council Meeting <br />June 14, 2010 <br />Page 3 <br />Regular Agenda <br />10. Proclamation recognizing the North Lamar Pantherette Softball Team for winning the <br />State 3A Championship. <br />Mayor Biard presented each individual team member with a proclamation recognizing <br />their success in winning the State Championship. <br />11. Hear and deliberate on water and sewer rate study presentation. <br />Darrell Cline of Stowe & Co. presented the water and sewer rate study to City Council. <br />In summary, Mr. Cline recommended that the City maintain retail water and wastewater rates at <br />current levels. <br />12. Presentation on the Lake Pat Mayse Study Committee recommendations. <br />Chairman Hayter Reeves said the Committee recommended offering an interruptible <br />supply available to an outside entity, but only when the lake was above elevation 448. Mr. <br />Reeves said they also recommended application to amend the City's water rights permit to allow <br />a peak day and increase the amount of water available. Mr. Reeves explained there were several <br />options available to increase the amount of water and subsequently answered questions from <br />City Council. Council Member Pickle expressed appreciation for all of the work done by the <br />Committee. Council Member Pickle suggested that they look at ways to develop the City's <br />water resources, such as dredging Lake Crook. Mr. Reeves said that was discussed their <br />meetings, and from a water supply prospective it was determined that it would be better to raise <br />the water level instead of dredge the lake. <br />13. Presentation on upgrades to Suddenlink Cable Systems. <br />Ray McCranie of Suddenlink gave a presentation on the transition from and process for <br />obtaining and installing DTA units. <br />14. Deliberate and act on the Final Plat of Lot 1, Block A, Mirabeau Square 287 Addition, <br />located at 3553 Lamar Avenue. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Pickle and seconded by <br />Council Member McCarthy. Motion carried, 7 ayes - 0 nays. <br />15. Public hearing, deliberate and act on RESOLUTION NO. 2010-065: A RESOLUTION <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE <br />APPLICATION FOR THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE <br />GR.ANT (JAG) PRORAM; AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH <br />LAMAR COUNTY; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS; ACCEPTING <br />SAID GRANT AWARD UPON NOTICE THEREOF; AUTHORIZE THE <br />EXECUTION OF ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR ACCEPTANCE <br />1 il) <br />
