D RAFT <br />attorney\reswork\current\Appointments - V&CC - Expired 2010 <br />RESOLUTION N0. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />(RE)APPOINTING AS A MEMBER OF THE VISITORS <br />AND CONVENTION COUNCIL OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF <br />LAMAR COUNTY; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED <br />TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, in Resolution No. <br />90-026, on the 12th day of March, 1990, authorize the execution of a contract with the <br />Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County, Inc. providing for the use of hotel occupancy tax <br />funds to promote and advertise the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce created the Visitors and Convention Council <br />to carry out its contractual obligations to administer the use of said hotel occupancy tax <br />funds; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor, the one Council Member herein appointed, and the City <br />Manager are full, voting members of the Visitors and Convention Council; and, <br />WHEREAS, the term of office of Council Stephen Brown, as a member of the Visitors <br />and Convention Council of the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County, expired May 31, <br />2010; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris has appointed for a <br />term of two (2) years, beginning June 1, 2010, and ending May 31, 2012, and has submitted <br />the name of such person to the City Council for confirmation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />I Section 2. That the ; appointment of , as a member of the <br />Visitors and Convention Council of the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County, for a term <br />of two (2) years, beginning June 1, 2010, and ending May 31, 2012, be, and the same is <br />hereby, confirmed. <br />Section 3.
