RESOLUTION NO. 2010-079 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, NAMING THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AS ITS AGENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF APPLYING FOR, RECEIVING AND DISBURSING ALL FUNDS FOR CERTAIN AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS AND FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF CONTRACTS NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID IMPROVEMENTS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISION RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Paris intends to make certain improvements to Cox Field; and, WHEREAS, the general description of the project is described as: "Project - 2011 Runway 17-35 Overlay and Airfield Improvements"; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department of Transportation for these improvements; and, WHEREAS, total project costs are estimated to be $1,675,000, and the City of Paris will be responsible for 10% of the total project costs currently estimated to be $167,500; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris names the Texas Department of Transportation as its agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these improvements. 1VOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS THAT: Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. The City Council supports and accepts Project 2011 Runway 17-35 Overlay and Airfield Improvements as described herein and authorizes the funding of ten percent (10%) of the total project costs. Section 3. The City of Paris hereby directs the City Manager to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of this governing body, all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as shall be necessary and appropriate for the implementation of Project - 2011 Runway 17-35 Overlay and Airfield Improvement to Cox Field Airport. Section 4. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon passage.
