Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at 5:15 P.M. in the <br />Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. Ken Kohls <br />2. George Kimbrough <br />3. Jon McFadden <br />4. Stephen Holmes <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. <br />Joe McCarthy was present as City Council Liaison. <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:30pm by Chairman Kimbrough. A quorum <br />was established by 4 members being present. <br />Mr. Kimbrough asked the commission members to review the submitted minutes <br />of the April 8, 2010 meeting. Mr. Holmes made a motion to approve the minutes <br />which was seconded by Mr. McFadden and passed 4-0. <br />Mr. Kimbrough moved to item #3 concerning discussion and possible action to <br />place a school zone regulating speed during certain times on SE Loop 286 at <br />location of the new Paris High School. Mr. Tuttle informed members that TXDOT <br />had completed the traffic study and made recommendation to place a school <br />zone at this location. Mr. Holmes made a motion to accept the TXDOT <br />recommendation and place a school zone on SE Loop at the new Paris High <br />School. Mr. Kohl's second the motion and it passed 4-0. <br />Mr Kimbrough moved to item #4 regarding discussion and possible action to <br />place a construction zone on Bonham St. (US Highway 82W) from Loop 286 <br />west toward city limits. Mr. Tuttle informed members that TXDOT will be <br />constructing a turn lane at this location and a construction zone is needed to <br />reduce speed during construction. Mr. Kohl's made a motion to place a <br />construction zone at the location. Mr. McFadden second the motion and it <br />passed 4-0. <br />Mr. Kimbrough moved to item #5 regarding discussion and possible action <br />concerning placement of a speed zone on Lover's Lane Alley. After discussion <br />no action was taken on this matter. <br />Mr. Kimbrough moved to item #6 regarding any future agenda items. There were <br />no future agenda items but members had concerns about the following; <br />~ <br />
