Regular Council Meeting <br />August 9, 2010 <br />Page 4 <br />A Motion to appoint Dr. James Gulde and William "Bill" Sanders to the Board was made <br />by Council Member Pickle and seconded by Council Member Wright. Motion carried, 4 ayes - <br />0 nays. <br />14. Deliberate and possibly act on RESOLUTION NO. 2010-088: A RESOLUTION OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, EXTENDING THE TERMS <br />OF TWO EXISTING MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT IN ORDER <br />TO ACHIEVE STAGGERED TERMS ON THE BOARD; MAKING OTHER <br />FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />City Manager Kevin Carruth said at the Council meeting of July 26, 2010, Council <br />Member Rhonda Rogers brought to the attention of staff that the terms of the members of the <br />Board of Adjustment were set to expire at the same time. Mr. Carruth also said according to the <br />policy of the City Council, the members are to serve staggered terms. He said staff was <br />recommending that the terms of Rick Hundley and Allen Moore be extended one year, because <br />they were the most recent appointees. <br />A Motion to extend the terms of Rick Hundley and Allen Moore far one year was made <br />by Council Member Pickle and seconded by Council Member McCarthy. Motion carried, 4 ayes <br />- 0 nays. <br />15. Deliberate and possibly act on the proposed sanitation RFP and options. <br />Mayor Biard recommended that they consider this item at their next meeting, because <br />three Council Members were absent. <br />A Motion to table this item was made by Council Member Wright and seconded by <br />Council Member Pickle. Motion carried, 4 ayes - 0 nays. <br />16. Hear and deliberate on the proposed 2010-2011 Budget for the City of Paris. <br />City Manager Kevin Carruth said that budget workshops were scheduled next week from <br />3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. <br />17. Deliberate and possibly act on RESOLUTION NO. 2010-089: A RESOLUTION OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, CALLING A PUBLIC <br />HEARING FOR AUGUST 23, 2010 ON THE CITY MANAGER'S PROPOSED <br />BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2010-2011; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Pickle and seconded by <br />Council Member Wright.
