the following exception: <br />Exception: Corridors protected by an approved automatic <br />sprinkler system installed in accordance with Section 903.3.1.1 <br />shall be limited to 50 percent of the wall area. <br />Section 903.3.8, Automatic Sprinkler System Room Access, shall be added <br />to read as follows: <br />The entrance to the riser room or area of fire <br />appurtenances will be labeled. <br />Section 907.10.3, Water flow Notification, shall be added to read as <br />follows: <br />When required by Section 903.4.2, an exterior audible and <br />visible notification device shall be provided on the exterior of <br />the building and shall be located above the Fire Department <br />Connection. The notification device shall operate on a water- <br />flow alarm only, shall be non-silenceable and shall continue to <br />flash after the panel is silenced on the condition the alarm was a <br />water-flow alarm only. The notification device shall be wired <br />from the fire alarm control panel as a latching circuit. <br />Section 910.3.2.2, Sprinkled buildings, shall be amended by adding a <br />second paragraph to read as follows: <br />The automatic operating mechanism of the smoke and <br />heat vents shall operate at a temperature rating at least 100 <br />degrees (F) (approximately 38 degrees Celsius) greater than the <br />temperature rating of the sprinklers installed. <br />Section 912.3.1, Locking fire department connection caps, shall be <br />amended to read as follows: <br />The Fire Code Official is authorized to require locking caps <br />on fire department connections for water-based fire protection <br />systems where the responding fire department carries <br />appropriate key wrenches for removal. Locking caps are <br />required on all fire department connections for water-based <br />fire protection systems installed or modified after the adoption <br />of this code. <br />Section 913.1, General, shall be amended by adding a second paragraph <br />and exception to read as follows: <br />When located on the ground level at an exterior wall, the <br />fire pump room shall be provided with an exterior fire <br />13 <br />
