POLICY ISSUE(S): Public Hearing; Grant application BACKGROUND: The City of Paris has benefitted from previous grants from the Texas Capital Fund Main Street Program in order to replace several hundred feet of sidewalk downtown. The application proposes to replace sidewalk on both sides of Clarksville Street (see accompanying map). The project is estimated at approximately $195,000.00. The City's match for the project will be $45,000.00. The grant will not pay for the estimated $32,250 in engineering services and will be paid out of the City's match. The grant administration fee is $15,000 and will be paid out of the grant. If the grant is awarded, the $45,000 match will need to be budgeted in the 2011-2012 budget year.
