Annual Civil Service Meeting <br />Old City council Chambers <br />January 27, 2011 <br />The Annual Civil Service Meeting was held Thursday, January 27, 2011. The meeting was called to order <br />by Vice-Chairperson Howard Corriston. Members present were Sims Norment, Howard Corriston and <br />Herbert Preston (new member), City Attorney Kent Mcllyar, Civil Service Director Melba Harris, Police <br />Chief Bob Hundley, Fire Chief Ronnie Grooms and Assistant Police Chief Randy Tuttle. <br />Howard Corriston opened the floor for the nomination of a Chairperson. Sims Norment was elected as <br />chairperson. Sims Norment then opened the floor for the nomination of a Vice Chair. Howard Corriston <br />was elected as Vice Chair. <br />The minutes of the October 20, 2010 meeting were read and approved by members present. <br />The Civil Service Commission scheduled April 28,1u1y 28, and October 27 as their quarterly meeting <br />dates. Meetings will be scheduled @ 4 p.m. <br />Melba Harris gave the Civil Service Activity Report for 2010. <br />Bob Hundley discussed a proposed change in the police evaluation. He proposed a system that more <br />closely tracks the training that is given to the Field Training Officers. A motion was made by Howard <br />Corriston that the new evaluation system be approved. It was second by Herbert Preston and it was <br />unanimously approved. <br />The meeting was adjourned. <br />Melba P. Harris <br />Civil Service Director <br />26 <br />
