RESOLUTION NO. 2011-027 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID AND AWARDING THE COIVTRACT TO COSTON & SON READY MIX FOR THE PURCHASE OF PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE IN THE AMOUIVT OF $79.00 PER CUBIC YARD FOR CLASS "A" (5 SACK), $84.00 PER CUBIC YARD FOR CLASS "C" (6 SACK), $81.00 PER CUBIC YARD FOR PORTLAND CEMENT GROUT (5 SACK), AND $86.00 PER CUBIC YARD FOR PORTLAND CEMENT GROUT (6 SACK), FOR USE IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PARIS; MAKING OTHER FINDIIVGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, by Invitation to Bid published in the Paris News on February 6, 2011 & February 13, 2011, the Public Works Department of the City of Paris solicited bids for roadway materials to be used by the Street, Water and Sewer Divisions of the Public Works Department from April 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012; and, WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bid received for Portland Cement Concrete was made by Coston & Son Ready Mix in the amount of $79.00 per cubic yard for Class "A" (5 sack), $84.00 per cubic yard for Class "C" (6 sack), $81.00 per cubic yard for Portland Cement Grout (5 sack), and $86.00 per cubic yard for Portland Cement Grout (6 sack); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the bid of Coston & Son Ready Mix, for the furnishing and delivery of Portland Cement Concrete in the amount of $79.00 per cubic yard for Class "A" (5 sack), $84.00 per cubic yard for Class "C" (6 sack), $81.00 per cubic yard for Portland Cement Grout (5 sack), and $86.00 per cubic yard for Portland Cement Grout (6 sack) is hereby accepted and let conditioned upon said vendor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents, attached hereto as Exhibit A. Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
