RESOLUTION N0. 2011-039 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; <br />APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR AN AUTOMOBILE BURGLARY & <br />THEFT PREVENTION GRANT FOR CONTINUATION OF OUR AUTO THEFT <br />TASK FORCE THE TOTAL OF THE GRANT IS EXPECTED TO BE <br />$139,522.00 WITH A CASH MATCH OF $41,993.00 ALONG WITH AN <br />IN-KIND MATCH OF $2,900.00; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ANY <br />AND ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR ACCEPTANCE AND <br />IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID GRANT UPON NOTICE THEREOF; MAKING <br />OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority provides funding for <br />automobile theft prevention grants; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris desires to apply for an Automobile <br />Burglary & Theft Prevention Grant entitled "Northeast Texas Automobile Theft Task Force" <br />project beginning September 1, 2011 and ending August 31, 2012, in the amount of <br />$139,522.00 with a cash match of $41,933.00 along with an in-kind match of $2,900.00 for <br />continuation of our existing Auto Theft Task Force; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, Police Chief, and <br />other appropriate City staff to make application, accept and implement said grant (if same <br />is received) without further action of City Council; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS, THAT: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />Section 2. That an application to the Texas Automobile Burglary & Theft <br />Prevention Authority be made and approved for an Automobile Theft Prevention Grant <br />entitled "Northeast Texas Automobile Theft Task Force" project for the year beginning <br />September 1, 2011 and ending August 31, 2012, in the amount of $139,522.00 with a cash <br />match of $41,933.00 along with an in-kind match of $2,900.00. <br />Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, appointed as the <br />Authorized Official of said project and is authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of <br />the City of Paris, an application for said grant. <br />Section 4.
