<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, historic preservation is an effective tool for managing growth and <br /> sustainable development,, revitalizing neighborhoods, fostering local pride and <br /> maintaining community character while enhancing livability; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, historic preservation is relevant for communities across the nation, <br /> both urban and rural, and for Americans of all ages, all walks of life and all ethnic <br /> backgrounds; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is important to celebrate the role of history in our lives and the <br /> <br /> contributions made by dedicated individuals in helping to preserve the tangible aspects <br /> of the heritage that has shaped us as a people; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, "Celebrating America's Treasures" is the theme for National <br /> Preservation Month 2011, cosponsored by Texas Historic Commission and the National <br /> Trust for Historic Preservation,. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, 1, Will Biard, Mayor of the City of Paris, Texas, by the <br /> authority vested in me, do hereby proclaim May as <br /> <br /> <br /> "NATIONAL PRESERVATION MONTH" <br /> <br /> in the City of Paris and do, hereby, urge all the citizens of Paris to join their fellow <br /> citizens across the United States in recognizing and participating in this special <br /> observance. <br /> <br /> <br /> IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the <br /> City of Paris to be affixed this 9th day of May, 2011. <br /> <br /> <br /> Will Biard, Mayor <br /> ATTEST. <br /> <br /> <br /> Janice Ellis, City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> W.
