Fungal-Biological Hazard Remediation Protocol Irerracon <br />Grand Theater o 21 Lamar Street, Paris, Texas <br />April 11, 2011 ■ Terracon Project No. 94117645 <br />7.0 VENTILATION <br />a) ?he firs± floor lobby remediation work area will be ventilated with the previously <br />established ventilation system as defined for the ACM-LBP abatement as referenced <br />in Scope of Work for Hazardous Materials Abatement, Terracon Projecfi No. <br />94107645. Containment/critical barriers must remain in place until interim written <br />notification of post remediation clearance has been received from the MAC. <br />b) The second floor containment must be maintained at a negative pressure differential <br />of 5 Pascal, or, 0.02 inches of water, with HEPA filtered negative air machines <br />(NAMS) that are exhausted to the immediate outdoor environment. The containment <br />should have a minimum of four (4) air changes per hour and shall be operated <br />continuously for the duration of the project. The negative pressure differential will be <br />continuously monitored with a manometer. The containment/critical barriers must <br />remain in place until interim written notification of post remediation clearance has <br />been received from the MAC. <br />8.0 PPE DURING FUNGAL REMEDIATION <br />a) Workers will wear personal protective equipment consisting of, at a minimum, half <br />face dual cartridge air purifying respirators with HEPA cartridges (N-100) and full <br />body disposable coveralls while performing remedial work in the first floor lobby. <br />b) Workers will wear PAPR in the second floor containment. <br />It is the Contractor's responsibility to ensure that his employees are afforded the respiratory <br />protection as required by the OSHA standard for respiratory protection (29 CFR 1910.134, <br />December, 2008) or the respiratory protection requested by the employee. The Contractor <br />shall ensure the workers are instructed and trained in the proper use, maintenance, and <br />care of respiratory protection in accordance with Title 29 CFR 1910.134. Safety glasses, <br />disposable coveralls, and work gloves must be worn while working in the contained areas. It <br />is the contractor's responsibility to ensure that workers on scaffold platforms or working from <br />ladders or other elevated platforms should be safe and secure from slipping or falling. <br />9.0 CLEANING/DECONTAMINATION <br />Option 1-Mechanical Cleaninq of Non-Porous and Semi-Porous Substrates <br />Mechanical cleaning and decontamination procedures shall use HEPA vacuuming and wet <br />wiping. Wet wiping should be performed with water amended with a non-ionic detergent. <br />An appropriately labeled and EPA registered biocide may be used on non-porous or semi- <br />porous substrates.
