RESOLUTION NO. 2011-048 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT ("MOA") WITH THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) TO COVER REQUIRED LAND SITES AND EASEMENTS WITH ONE SINGLE DOCUMENT FOR FOUR FACILITIES FOR EXISTING NAVIGATIONAL AID (NAVAID) FACILITIES AT COX FIELD, PARIS, TEXAS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the United States Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has presented the City with a Memorandum of Agreement to cover required land sites and easements for existing navigational aid facilities at Cox Field, Paris, Texas (NAVAID) a copy of said agreement being attached hereto as Exhibit "A", and, WHEREAS, both parties agreed the establishment, operation, and maintenance of systems for air traffic control, navigation, communication, and weather reporting is in the primary interest of safety and direct support of the ongoing operation of the Cox Field Airport, and, WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the proposed Memorandum of Agreement and recommends that City Council approve and authorize execution of this document, and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the Memorandum of Agreement is hereby approved and City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, a Memorandum of Agreement between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under the terms and conditions and in the forms shown in Exhibit "A".
