RESOLUTION NO. 2011-048 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A MEMORANDUM OF <br />AGREEMENT ("MOA") WITH THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) <br />TO COVER REQUIRED LAND SITES AND EASEMENTS WITH ONE SINGLE <br />DOCUMENT FOR FOUR FACILITIES FOR EXISTING NAVIGATIONAL AID <br />(NAVAID) FACILITIES AT COX FIELD, PARIS, TEXAS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the United States Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation <br />Administration (FAA) has presented the City with a Memorandum of Agreement to cover <br />required land sites and easements for existing navigational aid facilities at Cox Field, Paris, <br />Texas (NAVAID) a copy of said agreement being attached hereto as Exhibit "A", and, <br />WHEREAS, both parties agreed the establishment, operation, and maintenance of <br />systems for air traffic control, navigation, communication, and weather reporting is in the <br />primary interest of safety and direct support of the ongoing operation of the Cox Field <br />Airport, and, <br />WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the proposed Memorandum of Agreement and <br />recommends that City Council approve and authorize execution of this document, and, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />Section 2. That the Memorandum of Agreement is hereby approved and City <br />Manager be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of <br />Paris, a Memorandum of Agreement between the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) <br />under the terms and conditions and in the forms shown in Exhibit "A". <br />Section 3.
