I certainly share your concerns <br />As a member of the Senate Select Committee on Redistricting, I have publicly stated that <br />we need to protect rural interests as much as possible. During the recent Legislative <br />Session new maps for the state Senate and House were passed. While I supported the <br />Senate plan, 1 voted against the House map due to my belief that there were unnecessary <br />shifts in the boundaries of some districts in East Texas. <br />A proposed congressional map has been introduced for consideration during the Special <br />Legislative Session. 1 will keep these concerns in mind as this map is discussed. <br />Thank you again for taking the time to write.
