RESOLUTION N0. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH <br />PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR PROVISION OF SCHOOL <br />RESOURCE OFFICER SERVICES; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Paris Independent School District ("PISD") has requested the City of <br />Paris ("City") to provide School Resource Officer services at various PISD campuses during <br />school year 2011-2012, and the City Council is agreeable to providing such service; and, <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, governmental <br />entities may contract with each other to provide governmental functions or services; and, <br />WHEREAS, an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Paris and PISD for School <br />Resource Officer Services for fiscal year 2011-2012 is attached hereto as Exhibit "A", and <br />should be in all things, approved, and the City Manager of the City of Paris should be <br />authorized to execute the same; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />Sectiain 2. That the Interlocal Agreement between the City and PISD for School <br />Resource Officer services at PISD campuses during fiscal year 2011-2012, attached hereto <br />and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit "A", be, and the same is hereby, approved. <br />Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to <br />execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Interlocal Agreement with the Paris Independent <br />School District for School Resource Officers for fiscal year 2011-2012 substantially in <br />accordance with the form of the Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 4.
