RESOLUTION N0. 2011-065 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE RENOVATION AND ALTERATION OF THE CITY OF PARIS CENTRAL WAREHOUSE FACILITY TO BOB JOHNS CONSTRUCTION, LLC, THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore advertise for bids for furnishing plant, labor, materials, and equipment, and for performing all work required for the renovation and alteration of the City's Central Warehouse Facility, which bids were received until 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 28, 2011; and, WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bid providing the best value to the City was received from Bob Johns Construction, LLC in the amount of $195,266.00 plus $3,800.00 for alternate number one, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and, WHEREAS, the contract should be awarded to Bob Johns Construction, LLC in accordance with the Advertisement for Bids, drawings and specifications for the renovation and alteration of the City's Central Warehouse Facility located at 165 W. Center Street, Paris, Lamar County, Texas; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the bid from Bob John's Construction in the amount of One Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand Two Hundred Sixty Six Dollar ($195,266.00) for renovation and alteration of the City of Paris Central Warehouse Facility, 165 W. Center St., Paris, Texas is hereby accepted as the lowest responsible bid which provides the best value to the City subject to the City and Bob John's Construction entering into a contract for the Project and Contractor providing required Performance and Payment Bonds and insurance coverage for the Project. Section 3. That the City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris a Construction Agreement with Bob John's Construction in a form acceptable to the City Attorney. Section 4. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 8th day of August, 2011
