MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />August 9, 2011 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a special session at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, <br />August 9, 2011, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: A.J. Hashmi <br />Council Members: Joe McCarthy; John Wright; Richard Grossnickle; <br />Matt Frierson; and Edwin Pickle <br />City Staff: Gene Anderson, Interim City Manager/Finance <br />Director; Kent McIlyar, City Attorney; Janice Ellis, <br />City Clerk; Shawn Napier, City Engineer; Kent <br />Klinkerman, EMS Director; Doug Harris, Utilities <br />Director; Ron Sullivan, Public Works Director; <br />and Priscilla McAnally, Library Director. <br />Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Hashmi called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. <br />2. Budget workshop - deliberate on proposed 2011-2012 Budget. <br />City Council discussed the budget of the City Council. Council Member Frierson asked <br />when staff would be bringing a City Council travel policy for review by City Council. Mr. <br />Anderson said he planned to have a draft to them for their first meeting in September. <br />City Council also discussed the budgets of the City Manager, City Attorney, Municipal <br />Court, City Clerk, Finance Department, Community Development, Engineering, Public Works, <br />Parks Department, Sanitation, Street Department, Traffic Department, the Garage, Emergency <br />Services, Cox Field, Paris Band, and the Library. Mr. Anderson explained that Department 89 <br />was divided into two sections, one being miscellaneous including such items as non-profit <br />organizations and IT. Kent Klinkerman explained IT items under Department 89. <br />3. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Council Member <br />Pickle and was seconded by Council Member Frierson. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays.
