MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 1, 2011 <br />4:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman at 4:01 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney, Vice-Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Nancy Anderson <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Matt Coyle <br />David Stewart <br />C. Also present were Jeanna Scott, Historic Preservation Officer; and Cheri Bedford, <br />Main Street Manager. <br />2. Consideration of and action on the,following Cer•tificate of 'Appropriateness: <br />A. 7 East Plaza - Rafidy Radar - Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager represented <br />the petition. Ms. Bedford stated I immediately contact Mr. Rader and Mr. Taylor <br />after the last meeting to advise them that they need to come up with another <br />solution. Paul Denney stated he spoke with Mike Taylor and Mr. Taylor stated <br />that the window does not have a wind load issue; the issue is with the <br />manufacturer. The manufacturer stated they would not guarantee the window to <br />open because of the size. Mr. Denney further stated the window that has been <br />presented on the COA is totally appropriate and meets the criteria. Motion was <br />made by Paul Denney, seconded by Ben Vaughan to approve the COA. Motion <br />carried 5-0. <br />3. Future agenda items. None. <br />4.
