6K and 6M to the Building and Standards Commission for demolition since they cannot <br />be rehabilitated nor do they have significant historical value. Motion carried 6-0. <br />Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Supervisor stated that item 6F- 840 Hearon has two <br />fences with one of them clearly in the right of way; by ordinance code enforcement can <br />remove the fence that is in the right of way. The property has had numerous complaints <br />of a foul odor coming from this house. The odor is coming from several dogs that are <br />located on the property which are living in and under this house. Mr. Talley further <br />reported on 611-1356 Kaufinan Street, property owner lives in California. Neighbors are <br />complaining about people breaking into the house at night. The house itself is starting to <br />sink, code enforcement has secured this property over and over and the owner is not <br />interested in saving the property. Mr. Talley further reported on 6L-503 West <br />Washington, property owner is in county jail. The house is dangerous, it is collapsing, <br />and the roofing is falling in on it. Furthermore, the west wall is in danger of collapsing. <br />Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Ben Vaughan to send Item 6F to the <br />Building Standards Commission for demolition since it cannot be rehabilitated nor does <br />it have significant historical value. Motion carried 6-0. <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Nancy Anderson to send Item 6H to the <br />Building Standards Commission for demolition since it cannot be rehabilitated nor does it <br />have significant historical value. Motion carried 6-0. <br />Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Nancy Anderson to send Item 6L to the <br />Building Standards Commission for repair only. Motion carried 6-0. <br />Discussion of and possible action regarding the following structure considered by code <br />inspectors to be in violation ofArticle III of Chapter- 7 of the Code of Or•dinances of the <br />City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and <br />Structures, " to determine whether such building or structure currently located within the <br />ciry's histor-ic district has special histor-ic significance and should be protected from <br />demolition and recommended for rehabilitation and repair being located at 37 <br />Clarl+sville Street. <br />Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Supervisor, made a report to the commission. Mr. <br />Talley stated code enforcement has the support of Fire Marshall regarding this property. <br />Cheri Bedford also stated that when they needed into the building for the sidewalk grant <br />they were told by Mr. Faber that the basement was full of water. Mr. Talley further <br />stated that first and foremost he needs to fix the roof and repair the windows. Motion <br />was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Douglas Cox to send this item to the Building <br />and Standards Commission for repair only. Motion carried 6-0. <br />5. Discussion of and possible action on requesting the City Council allow additional funds <br />be budgeted to hire someone to photographic/document the status of the Historical <br />Downtown building roofs. <br />22 <br />
