MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />August 29, 2011 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a special session at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, <br />August 29, 2011, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: A.J. Hashmi <br />Council Members: Joe McCarthy; Robert Avila; John Wright; Richard <br />Grossnickle; Matt Frierson; and Edwin Pickle <br />City Staf£ Kent McIlyar, City Attorney; Janice Ellis, <br />City Clerk; and Shawn Napier, City Engineer <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Hashmi called the meeting to order at 11:04 a.m. <br />2. Receive, deliberate and provide direction on information from Robert T. Bass, Allison, <br />Bass & Associates regarding 2010 Census data, changing demographics in City Council <br />Districts since 2000, and proposed City Council redistricting maps. <br />Also, present at this meeting were Engineering Tech Shane Grissom, County Elections <br />Administrator Russ Towers, EParis reporter Charles Richards, and Paris News reporter Krista <br />Goerte. <br />Shawn Napier provided City Council with individual district maps. City Council re- <br />worked the redistricting plan and Bob Bass inserted their information into the census blocks. It <br />was a consensus of the City Council to move forward with the plan they created. <br />3. Adjournment. <br />There being no further business, a Motion to adjourn was made by Council Member <br />Pickle and was seconded by Council Member Frierson. Motion carried, 7 ayes - 0 nays.
