Highway 195 at the southwest corner of the Montgomery tract; <br />THENCE South 42° 23' 33" West with said northwest line a distance of <br />20.33 feet to the place of beginning and containing 14.310 (called 14.526) acres <br />of land, more or less, <br />be, and the same is hereby, annexed to the city of Paris, Texas, and that boundary limits of the <br />city of Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, extended to include the above-described <br />territory, and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of the city of Paris, <br />and that said land and the inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all of the rights and <br />privileges and subject to all of the obligations and responsibilities of other citizens of the city of <br />Paris, Texas, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of the City of Paris. <br />Section 3. That, pursuant to Section 43.057 of the Local Government Code, the City <br />Council finds and determines that, although this annexation would cause an area to be entirely <br />surrounded without being within the city of Paris, because the surrounded property is owned by <br />one or more of the parties requesting annexation, surrounding said area will foster development <br />in both the annexed and un-annexed area, will enhance tax revenue to the City, and is therefore <br />in the public interest. <br />Section 4. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, directed to file with the County <br />Clerk of Lamar County, Texas, a certified copy of this Ordinance accompanied by a copy of the <br />Petition for Annexation. <br />
