was held at Paris, Texas, on the 11th day of September, 1972,
<br />which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior
<br />to the institution of annexation proceedings; and,
<br />` WHERFAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a
<br />newspaper having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas,
<br />and in the above described territory, on the 27th day of August,
<br />~ 1972, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days
<br />~ prior to the date of such public hearing; and,
<br />WHEZEAS, the total corporate area of the City of Paris,
<br />Paris, Texas, oiz the first day of January, 1972, was
<br />12,209.9140 acres; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
<br />is in excess of 5,000 and less than 25,000 inhabitants; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the
<br />extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas;
<br />and,
<br />WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to
<br />a.nd adjoins the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 12.1212
<br />acres in Tract 1, 9.64 acres in Tract 2 and 19.98 acres in
<br />Tract 3, for a total of 41.7412 acres, more or less, which when
<br />added to oi:her property annexed in the year 1972 is less than
<br />ten per cent (1057o) of the present acreage contained in the cor-
<br />porate limits of the City of Paris, Texas; and,

<br />WHEREAS, the above described Tracts 2 and 3 should be
<br />properly zoned as of the date of annexation; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
<br />Section 1. The following described land and territory
<br />lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
<br />is hereby addedand annexed to the City of Paris,Paris, Texas,
<br />and said territory hereinafter descri.bed shall hereafter be in-
<br />cluded within the boundary limits of the City of Paris, Texas,
<br />and the present boundary limits of said city, at the various
<br />points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are
<br />altered and aznended so as to include said area within the cor-
<br />porate limits of the City of Paris, Texas, to-wit:
