was held at Paris, Texas, on the 10th day of May, 1971, which date is not moxe than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and, WHEREAS, notice of such public hearin g was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas, and in the above described territory, on the 25th day of April, 1971, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and, v WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the first day of January, 1971, was 11,597.5040 acres;: and, Wf-iIIZEAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is in excess of 5,000 and less thaxi 25,000 inhabitants; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 129.1 acres, more or less, which is less than ten per cent (10%) of the present acreage contained in the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas; NOW, THIIZEFORE, IBE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH E CITY OF PARIS, PARI S, TEXAS : Section 1. The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be in- , icluded within the boundary limits of the City of Paris, Texas, and the present..boundary limits of said city, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas, to-wit: Situated in the County of Laznar and State of Texas, and described as follows: BEGINNING at a point that is 600 feet South of the center line of the outside la,ne of Loop Highway 286, and is also 600 feet West of and parallel to the center line of F. M. Highway 1507. Said point being in the present city limit line as established by Ordinance No. 1816 dated February 3, 1967. THENCE in a Sou theasterly direction and at 600 feet parallel to the center line of F. M. Highway 1507 to a •point of intersection with an extension of a line being 600 feet East of and parallel to the center line of F. M. Highway 905; THENCE in a Northerly direction along said line, an extension thereof being 600 feet East of and parallel to the center line of F. M. Highway 905 to a point in the present city limit line, said point being 40 feet West of the most Eastern South East Corner of city limits as established by Or dinance No. 1816 dated February 3, 1967;
