ORDINANCE NO,'1 1816 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUND- ARY LIMIT5 OF THE CITY OF PARIS;s TEXAS,a AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF LESS THAN TEN PER CENT (10%) OF ITS PRESENT CITY LIMIT5, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS,, T EXAS', , WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the following described territory: Situated in the County of Lamar and State of Texas, and located South and East from the present City Limit Lines of the City of Paris, and described as folXows: Beginning at the present most South Eastern Limits of the City of Paris, at a point which is located in the West Line of what would Ue an extension of 6th Street, S. E. ; Thence East and paral].el to the proposed Loop Highway 286, at a distance of 600 feet fromthe center line of the outer loop of said highway; Thence in an Eastern and Northerly direction to the i W. B. Line of F. M. Highway 1507; Thence North with the W. B. Line of F. M. Highway 1507 to the South edge of the outer loop of proposed Loop Highway 286 South East; Thence in a Northerly and Easterly direction with the ' S. B. Line of said outer loop of said highway to a point 600 feet East of the E. B. Line of F. M. Highway 905 to a point; Thence North and in an Easterly direction to a point 600 feet North East of the center line of U. S. Highway 271; Thence North and W est and parallel with U. S. Highway 271 to the present E. B. Line of the Eastern City Limits of the City of Paris. was held at Paris, Texas, on the 3rd day of February, A. D.., 1967, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the institution of annexa- tion proceedings; and, WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas,, and in the above described territory, on the 20th day of January', A. D., 1967, which date is not more than twenty nor less than i:en days prior to the date of such public hearing; and, WHEREA59 the population of the City of Paris, Texas, is in excess of 53 000 and less than 25, 000 inhabitants; and.. WHEREAS, the above described territory Iies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Texas; and, V WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Paris9 Texas; and, I WHEREAS, the above described territory contains less than ten per cent (101o) of the present acreage contained in the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas; NOW;, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,, TEXAS:
