I. Existing Facilities
The existing wastewater collection system studied by ADS consists of 968,741
linear feet of collection line, 928,939 linear feet being gravity mains, and 39,802
linear feet being force mains. There are a total of 2653 access structures that
include 1624 manholes, 123 cleanouts, 144 tees, 748 end-of-line structures, and 14
pump stations. The majority of the collection system is composed of 6" and 8"
pipes. Sewage generally flows northerly to the city's wastewater treatment plant.
J. Rehabilitation and Capital Improvements
The City of Paris has made a continuing effort to reduce wet weather overflows
from the collection system. Since 1985, the City has reinvested over $10,000,000
in infrastructure renewal. Based on information provided by the City, the annual
occurrence of wet weather collection system overflows has decreased from over
110 per year to less than 10 per for the last for the last four calendar years. In
addition, the City experienced no lift station overflows during 1997. Infrastructure
renewal projects have include in-situ lining of collection system lines, a
comprehensive cleaning and debris removal program, replacement of forcemains,
construction of wet weather storage facilities, pump station rehabilitation, manhole
rehabilitation, point repairs and sewer line replacement projects. This has been
completed in addition to the comprehensive collection system survey and I/I
analysis.
ADS Environmental Services, Inc.
II-4
