3. Lift Station Pump Performance
Results of the 41ift station pump performance tests will be presented in a
separate letter report.
C. Conclusions
The following are the conclusions reached by ADS based on all collected data and
available information:
• Parts of the system are in an advanced state of disrepair, with numerous
deteriorated manholes and lines, as well as structural failures.
• Numerous tees and end-of-line segments in the collection system make
proper system maintenance difficult.
• Continuation of the current preventative maintenance program will alleviate
sewer backups in areas were they occur.
D. Recommendations
The following activities should be undertaken as part of an overall plan to
improve the city of Paris' wastewater collection and transmission system and
reduce wet weather overflows:
Complete rehabilitation of all defects in the five highest rated basins (PR13,
PR30, PR29, PR06, and PR07) at a cost of approximately $880,000.
Conduct post-rehabilitation flow monitoring in these five basins to determine
the effectiveness of the rehabilitation program.
Update the hydraulic model using the data collected from the post-
rehabilitation flow monitoring and permanent flow monitors. Results from
the updated hydraulic model will be used to validate current assumptions and
reconfirm the recommendations for rehabilitation and capacity improvements
ADS Environmental Services, Inc.
I-2
