I,ibrary Advisory 13oard <br />May 19. 2004 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />May 19, 2004 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session <br />Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at 4:00 PM in the Library with Chairman <br />Nancee Salzman presiding. The following Board members were present: <br />Jacl:ie Alsobrook, Anna Davis, Sarah Gambill, Peggy Guthrie, Deborah <br />Hatlev, Carl Lucas, Nancee Salzman, and Walter Williams. Also attending <br />was I3ettv Landon, Library Director. Bill Kennedy and Callie Thompson, <br />F'riends' President did not attend. <br />The minutes from the April meeting were approved. <br />The board approved sending the name of Jake Street to the Council as a <br />board member to replace Peggy Guthrie, whose term expires June 31, <br />2004. <br />Nancee appointed Sarah Gambill and Bill Kennedy to a nominating <br />committee to present a slate of officers for the coming year at the next <br />board meeting. <br />The budget report was favorable. <br />April circulation statistics were up .4°/► from last April. There were 19 <br />childi-eii's programs held with 368 children and 97 adults attending. In <br />Children's Outreach, 12 programs were held with 226 children attending <br />and 46 adults. <br />In adult outreach, there was 1 program which 9 people attended. There <br />were 28 interlibrary loans. We had 30 memorials given for a total of $640. <br />In the Dii-ector's Report, Betty informed the members that there was a <br />NETLS qtiarterly meeting in June; however, we have attended the <br />required number of ineetings this year and it was not necessary to send <br />anvone to that meeting. <br />
