DRAFT F: ALICE\RESWORK\CURRENT\ Lennox Foundation Grant Acceptance July 26, 2004 RESOLUTION NO. _________ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE MARTHA, DAVID AND BAGBY LENNOX FOUNDATION IN SUPPORT OF THE CITY'S GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION FOR FUNDS TO PARTIALLY FUND THE COMPLETION OF AN UPDATED HISTORIC RESOURCE SURVEY OF THE CITY OF PARIS; APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A GRANT AGREEMENT INCIDENT TO THE RECEIPT OF SAID FUNDS; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OF SAID GRANT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Texas Historic Commission, Certified Local Government Division, provides grant funding for Certified Local Government (CLG) grants; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris' Historic Preservation Commission has recommended to the City Council of the City of Paris that a grant application be submitted to the Texas Historic Commission seeking grant assistance to perform an updated survey of historic resources within the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, by adoption of Resolution No. 2003-104 on June 9, 2003, authorized the submittal of a grant application to the Texas Historic Commission, Certified Local Government Division, for grant funds to partially fund the completion of an updated survey of historic resources in the City of Paris, with $5,000 to be provided by said Texas Historic Commission grant and a $5,000 cash match to be provided by local resources; and, WHEREAS, as a consequence of said application, the City has likewise been offered a $3,800 grant from the Martha, David and Bagby Lennox Foundation in support of the City's application to the Texas Historic Commission for the aforesaid CLG Grant; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept said grant funds in the amount of $3,800, to authorize and approve the accompanying grant agreement with the Martha, David and Bagby Lennox Foundation, and to authorize the Mayor, City Manager, and appropriate City staff to execute any and all documents associated with the acceptance of said grant from the Lennox Foundation and to implement said grant in furtherance of receipt of other grant funds through the Texas Historic NOW, THEREFORE, Commission without further action of City Council; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS:
