Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday, September 06, 2011, at 5:15 P.M. in <br />the Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. Ken Kohls <br />2. Barry Shiver <br />3. George Kimbrough <br />4. Stephen Holmes (arrived at 5:25pm) <br />5. Jon McFadden <br />6. Jean Schweers <br />7. Kenneth Millsap <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. Joe McCarthy was <br />present as council liaison. <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:23pm by Ken Kohls. A quorum was <br />established by 7 members being present. <br />Mr. Kohls moved to item #2 to approve minutes from July 05, 2011 meeting. Mr. <br />Kimbrough made a motion to approve minutes and Mr. Shiver second the <br />motion. Motion carried 7-0. <br />Mr. Kohls moved to item #3 regarding discussion and possible action regarding <br />the installation of a stop sign at S. Collegiate & Loop 286. Mr. Tuttle informed <br />members that the extension of S. Collegiate had been completed and opened to <br />traffic. Mr. Tuttle stated a stop sign needed to be permanently installed stopping <br />southbound traffic at the intersection. Mr. Tuttle informed members that a <br />temporary stop sign had been authorized by Chief Hundley under City Ordinance <br />section 31-04. After discussion Mr. McFadden made a motion to approve <br />installation of a stop sign at S. Collegiate & Loop 286 stopping southbound traffic. <br />Mr. Shiver second the motion and the motion carried 7-0. <br />Mr. Kohls moved to item #4 regarding discussion and possible action regarding <br />the installation of a stop sign at Evergreen and S. Church. Mr. Tuttle informed <br />members that Sanitation Solutions had recently opened a recycling center at <br />their location and improvements had been made to Evergreen St. which leads <br />into the facility. With this occurring Mr. Tuttle informed members that with the <br />expected increase of traffic on this street a stop sign would be needed stopping <br />eastbound traffic on Evergreen at S. Church. Mr. Tuttle informed members that a <br />temporary stop sign had been authorized by Chief Hundley under City Ordinance <br />31-04.
