A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A NEW GRADE AND STEP PAY PLAN FOR ALL NEW CITY EMPLOYEES AND EMPLOYEE PROMOTIONS TO HIGHER GRADE, OTHER THAN CERTIFIED NON- DIRECTOR EMPLOYEES OF THE POLICE, FIRE, AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENTS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, has deemed it appropriate to implement a new grade and step plan for implementation in fiscal year 2004-2005 for newly hired employees and for employee promotions to higher grade, save and except for certified non- director employees of the Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Departments; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that it is in the best interest of the City to adopt and implement said new grade and step pay plan beginning fiscal year 2004-2005; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COLTNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That a new grade and step pay plan for all newly hired employees or employees who promote from one grade to a higher grade after the effective date of this resolution for a11 City departments, other than certified, non-director employees of the Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services Departments, as the aforesaid grade and step pay plan is set out in Exhibit A attached hereto and for all purposes incorporated herein, shall be and is hereby approved and adopted. Section 3. That this resolution and the accompanying new grade and step pay plan shall apply to all newly hired City employees or employees who promote from one grade to a higher grade in a11 City departments, other than certified, non-director employees of the Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services Departments, beginning October 1, 2004, and continuing thereafter.
