DRAFT <br />F:ALICE\ORDWORK\CURRENT\ Traffic - Center L,eft Turn Lanes on Collegiate - Ord <br />September 8, 2004 <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF <br />THE CITY OF PARIS BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC <br />CONTROL MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION 31-65 <br />OF SAID CODE TO INCLUDE A CENTER LEFT TURN LANE, <br />INCLUDING MARKINGS AND SIGNS, ON PINE MILL ROAD AT <br />NORTH COLLEGIATE DRIVE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR <br />PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 2004. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris Traffic Commission is charged with the responsibility <br />to study and evaluate traffic control devices for use on City streets and roadways; and, <br />WHEREAS, among those traffic control devices evaluated by the Traffic Commission <br />is the placement of center left turn lanes, including markings and signs, at various <br />intersections throughout the City; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Traffic Commission, at its regular meeting of September 7, 2004, <br />considered and evaluated various suggestions and requests for the placement of center left <br />turn lanes at various locations throughout the City, and, having done so, found and <br />determined that the placement of center left turn lanes at certain locations of and intersections <br />in the City is necessary to protect the health and safety and is in the best interests of the <br />citizens of the City of Paris, and have so recommended such signs to the City Council of the <br />City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in <br />all things approved. <br />Section 2. That the Traffic Control Map adopted in Paragraph (b) of Section 31-65 <br />of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, <br />amended to include the following center left turn lane, including markings and signs: <br />"On Pine Mill Road at North Collegiate Drive." <br />
