Library Ad~isory Board <br />August 23, 004 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIB Y <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />August 17, 2004 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular sessio Tuesday, <br />August 17, 2004, at 4:OOPM in the Library with Chairman Nan ee Salzman <br />presiding. The following Board members were present: Anna avis, <br />Sarah Gambill, Deborah Hatley, Bill Kennedy, Nancee Salzman Jake <br />Street, and Walter Williams. Also attending was Priscilla McA ally, <br />Assistant Library Director. Jackie Alsobrook, Carl Lucas, and allie <br />Thompson, Friends President, did not attend. <br />The minutes from the regular July meeting and a called August eeting <br />were approved. <br />The Board discussed options regarding the ongoing possible staf <br />reduction. Some suggestions for informing the public were intro uced. <br />Those included an informal questionnaire to be handed out with items that <br />patrons check out from the library. Another idea was a petition irculation <br />to let City Council members know how many patrons are agains library <br />budget cuts. <br />The budget report was favorable. <br />July circulation statistics were down by 3.02% from last year. <br />13,837 library visits and a total circulation of 28,742 items. <br />Children's programming had 4 programs with 128 children and <br />attending.
