MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 12, 2004 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Monday July 12, <br />2004 6:00 P. M. At Love Civic Center, North Hall, 2025 South Collegiate <br />Street, Paris, Texas. Mayor Curtis Fendley called the meeting to order with the <br />following Council Members present: Jim Bell, Jay Guest, Karen Wilkerson, <br />Don Wilson, and Mary Ann Fisher. Also, present were Interim City Manager <br />Terry Townsend, City Attorney Larry W. Schenk and Assistant City Clerk <br />Sherian Dixon. <br />Invocation was given by Richard Hart with the Christian Fellowship Church. <br />Mayor Fendley asked if there were any corrections or addendums to the <br />minutes from the City Council meetings of June 14, 2004 and June 28, 2004. <br />A motion was made by Councilwoman Fisher, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Guest, for approval of the minutes as presented. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />Mayor Fendley advised that the Council had been furnished minutes from the <br />Paris Public Library Advisory Board for May 19, 2004, and June 23, 2004; the <br />Paris Economic Development Corporation for June 16, 2004; the Airport <br />Advisory Board for May 20, 2004; the Paris Band Commission for May 13, <br />2004; the Historic Preservation Commission for October 14, 2002, May 24, <br />2004, and June 9, 2004; and the Housing Authority of the City of Paris Board <br />of Commissioners for May 15, 2004 and June 15, 2004. A motion was made <br />by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilwoman Wilkerson, for approval <br />of the above minutes as presented. The motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor announced that the next item on the agenda was a personal appearance <br />providing a presentation, discussion, and direction to city staff regarding <br />possible implementation of an IRS Section 125 Flex Benefit Plan by Gene <br />Anderson, Director of Finance for the City of Paris and Debra Reed. <br />Mr. Anderson advised that the City Council had been furnished background <br />information regarding the Flex Benefit Plan Per IRS Section 125.
