<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING A PROPOSAL FOR SERVICES AND
<br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
<br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH ARCHITEXAS FOR
<br />PREP ARA TION OF DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR THE CHURCH STREET
<br />HISTORIC DISTRICT NO.2; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
<br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
<br />EFFECTIVE DATE.

<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, did heretofore, on the 5th
<br />day of August, 2004, in Ordinance No, 2004-021, amend Zoning Ordinance No, 1710 to establish
<br />a Historic Overlay District for a substantial portion of the downtown area, commonly known as the
<br />Church Street Historic District No, 2, in accordance with the recommendations of the Planning and
<br />Zoning Commission and the Historic Preservation Commission; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council has been made aware of the need to establish design guidelines
<br />for the Church Street Historic District to assist property owners in their efforts to repair, rehabilitate,
<br />or renovate property within such District, and the Historic Preservation Commission has
<br />recommended that ArchiTexas perform such services; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the form of proposal for such professional services with ArchiTexas, attached
<br />hereto as Exhibit A, should in all things be approved, and the Mayor authorized to execute same, and
<br />a professional services agreement in such form as shall be approved by the City Attorney, shall be and
<br />is hereby authorized and the Mayor should be authorized to execute the same; NOW,
<br />THEREFORE,

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
<br />approved,
<br />
<br />Section 2. That the form of the proposal for professional services with ArchiTexas for the
<br />preparation of design guidelines for the Church Street Historic District No, 2 be, and the same is
<br />hereby, approved, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said proposal,
<br />
<br />Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf
<br />of the City of Paris, a Professional Services Agreement with ArchiTexas, under the terms and
<br />conditions and in such form as shall be approved by the City Attorney, to establish design guidelines
<br />for the Church Street Historic District No, 2,

<br />Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage,
