DRAFT <br />RESOLUTION N0. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; <br />AUTHORIZING THE PARIS VISITORS AND CONVENTION COUNCIL TO USE <br />THE RODEO ARENA AT THE RED RIVER VALLEY FAIR GROUNDS FOR A <br />PROFESSIONAL BULL RIDING RODEO EVENT TO BE HELD MAY 25, 2012; <br />GRANTING ADDITIONAL ACCESS TO RODEO ARENA SIX DAYS PRIOR TO <br />THE EVENT AND TWO DAYS AFTER THE EVENT FOR SETUP AND <br />CLEANUP; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO <br />THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, The Visitors & Convention Council of Paris, Texas ("V&CC') has <br />requested authorization and approval from the City Council of the City of Paris to bring the <br />first ever Professional Bull Riding-Rodeo Event to the Red River Valley Fair Grounds Arena <br />on May 25, 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, Upon authorization by the City Council and the Red Valley Fair <br />Association, the V&CC will enter into an agreement with Mr. Lee Podon/D&H Cattle <br />Company ("Event Promoter") to put on a Professional Bull Riding-Rodeo Event at the Red <br />River Valley Fair Grounds Arena, Paris, Texas on May 25, 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, the Event Promoter will be responsible for providing sufficient liability <br />insurance coverage for the duration of the PBR Event and shall name the City of Paris, <br />Texas as an Additional Insured during the Event; and <br />WHEREAS, the Paris Visitors & Convention Council has requested additional access <br />and use of the Arena and surrounding parking areas for six days prior to the date of the <br />PBR Event for preparation and staging and two days after the Event for cleanup; and <br />WHEREAS, based upon information provided by the Paris Visitors and Convention <br />Council and Chamber of Commerce Director, the City Council hereby finds that the Paris <br />V&CC should be allowed use of the Arena at the Red River Valley Fair Grounds for the PBR <br />Event to be held on May 25, 2012. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS, THAT: <br />Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />103 <br />
