DRAFT H:\JANICE\RESWORK\JUV.JUST.RES.OFFICER RESOLUTION NO. _______________ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR PROVISION OF JUVENILE JUSTICE RESOURCE OFFICER SERVICES TO ALL PISD CAMPUSES DURING THE 2004-2005 SCHOOL YEAR; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Paris Independent School District has requested Juvenile Justice Resource Officer services throughout the 2004-2005 school year at PISD campuses, and the City Council is agreeable to providing such service; and, WHEREAS, the form of the Intergovernmental Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris should be authorized to execute NOW, THEREFORE, the same; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the form of the Intergovernmental Agreement with the Paris Independent School District, attached hereto as Exhibit A, for Juvenile Justice Resource Officer services throughout the 2004-2005 school year at PISD campuses, be, and the same is hereby, approved. Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Intergovernmental Agreement with the Paris Independent School District, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this ______ day of November, 2004. ____________________________________ Curtis Fendley, Mayor
