<br />SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS <br />MONDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2004 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in Special Session, Monday, October <br />4, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. in the Community Exhibit Building at the Red River <br />Valley Fairgrounds, 570 East Center Street, Paris, Texas. Mayor Curtis Fendley <br />called the meeting to order with the following Council members present: Jim <br />Bell, Jay Guest, Mary Ann Fisher, Don Wilson, Karen Wilkerson and Rick <br />Poston. Also present were Interim City Manager Larry Shaw, City Attorney <br />Larry W. Schenk and Asst. City Clerk Sherian Dixon. <br />Mayor Fendley reminded the Council that they were here to conduct personal <br />interviews with City Manager Candidates. <br />Chris Hartung from the Waters Consulting Group came forward and introduced <br />Jeffrey Powell of Bridgeport, Texas. After an extensive question and answer <br />period, Mayor Fendley thanked Mr. Powell. <br />Mayor Fendley called for a ten minute break at 10:15 a.m. Mayor Fendley <br />reconvened the session and 10:27 a.m. <br />Mayor Fendley introduced the next City Manager candidate, Mike Randall <br />from <br />Monet, Missouri. Following the question and answer period, Mayor Fendley <br />thanked him for his time. <br />Mayor Fendley announced that there would be more interviews on Thursday. <br />Interim City Manager Larry Shaw said there was a conflict at the Civic Center <br />on Thursday. He explained that the regular City Council meeting would be at <br />th <br />6 p,m. October 7 at the Civic Center and that the Planning and Zoning <br />meeting was scheduled prior to that in the same room. Councilman Wilson said <br />he felt it would only be fair to all the City Manager candidates to be <br />interviewed in the same setting. <br />Following a discussion, it was decided to do the interviews at the Fairgounds <br /> <br />
