2011-094 RES APPROVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

RESOLUTION N0. 2011-094 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE BIDS AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING THE LABOR, MATERIALS, AND EQUIPMENT FOR PERFORMING ALL WORK REQUIRED FOR GROUNDS MAINTENANCE (MOWING) ON CITY OF PARIS PARKS AND FACILITIES TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, advertise for bids for furnishing labor, materials, and equipment and for performing all work required for grounds maintenance (mowing) on City of Paris Parks and Facilities, in the City of Paris; and; WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bid received for grounds maintenance (mowing) for the City of Paris Parks and Facilities as shown on the attached bid tabulation, was made by Ray's Lawn Service, 695 N. Cedar, Blossom, Texas, in the amount of $92,717.00 and the contract should be awarded to Ray's Lawn Services in accordance with the unit prices bid and the other terms and conditions set out in the bid documents attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; and, WHEREAS, the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract agreement with Ray's Lawn Service for annual grounds maintenance services in accordance with the bid documents and unit prices attached here as Exhibit "A"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the bid of Ray's Lawn Services, Blossom, Texas, for the Grounds Maintenance in the City of Paris is hereby accepted as the lowest responsible bid which provides the best value to the City and the contract for grounds maintenance is hereby let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Agreement with Ray's Lawn Service in such form as shown in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage.
