SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PARIS
November 8, 2004
The City Council of the City of Paris met in Special Session at 4:12 P. M.
Monday, November 8, 2004 in the Community Exhibit Building at the Red
River Valley Fairgrounds, 570 East Center Street, Paris, Texas. Mayor Fendley
called the meeting to order with the following Council members present: Jim
Bell, Mary Ann Fisher, Don Wilson, Karen Wilkerson and Rick Poston. Also
present were Interim City Manager Larry Shaw, City Attorney Larry W. Schenk
and Asst. City Clerk Sherian Dixon.
Mayor Fendley explained that the purpose for the meeting was a second
interview with City Manager candidate Tony N. Williams. He said during this
period the Council needed to ask questions and so did Mr. Williams, so all their
concerns would be addressed.
Councilman Jay Guest arrived at 4:15 P. M.
Following an extensive question and answer period with Mr. Williams, Mayor
Fendley thanked Mr. Williams.
Mayor Fendley said there were two other items on the agenda, one, to discuss
and take possible action on the City Manager selection process and, two, to
discuss and take possible action on the selection of a new City Manager. He
indicated these were also on the agenda for the regular meeting, scheduled for
today at 6 P. M. at the Civic Center. It was the consensus of the Council to
address those items at the 6 P. M. meeting. Mayor Fendley invited Mr.
Williams to attend that meeting.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
_____________________________
CURTIS FENDLEY, MAYOR
ATTEST:
__________________________________
SHERIAN DIXON, ASST.
